This year's festival started off at Pembrokeshire College, the home of Haverfordwest Chess Club. Thank you to Sam and the team for hosting. Not only were there enjoyable games of chess, but the tea was most welcome.
There were 22 players from Fishguard, Haverfordwest, Narberth and Pembrokeshire Chess Clubs taking part, with a mixture of age groups and experience. These were paired as equally as possible, giving some great matches, some going down to the last minute or so. Some people were playing their first rated games using the clock and scoring, and it was a marvellous experience for all.
Martin Jones, League Controller, spoke to most people at the end and the feedback was positive, with everyone enjoying themselves and looking forward to playing again. Gwyn Evans, Dyfed League Chairman, congratulated everyone.
